Meet Results & Meet Write-up

This was an invitational from the Norwegian Powerlifting Federation and was governed by IPF rules. Had another 5 for 9 day.   Missed my opening two squats on depth, that was a first for me, but sank my last one good enough.  Bench went smooth, pressing over 300 for the first time, but got it denied with two red lights on pause.  Deads were good up to the last where I forgot form and brought my butt up too fast on 501.  (To view the video clips, click on the hyperlink above by the individual totals.)

We had a great crew with us from the US including Jenn Maile, Larry Maile (played both the coach and lifter role this time), Kate Dingle-Craig, Tony William and Brad Madvig.  Also helping our short staffed crew was Nils from Sweden. We had a blast with the Norwegian lifters, their hospitality was without question, the best.  Pizza is super EXPENSIVE there, we bought four large pizzas after the meet, cost: $110!!!!!  WOW! 

(PS - Note the time on the video clips, this is International competition for you, we were lifting at 2:30 their time, but 6:30am our time.

This was a fun meet and a good lesson on making the top of your weight class rather than my usual of coming in too light (Thanks Larry!).

* New American Records

One of my harder meets.  Lost too much weight.. came in at 145.5 and therefore none of my gear fit, including my belt.  Got a good lesson there.  Only completed 4 of 9 attempts, but still managed to top the American Total record at 1091.25. 

I am still working on getting some pictures up from both meets.
